I’m a writer, a mom, a wife, a Mormon, and a feminist. I care deeply about being honest and kind even when it’s difficult, and I’m striving to make the world a better place one smile at a time.
I started this blog to help me get a job, but now I use it as a way to express some of the many thoughts spinning around in my head. This blog, like list making and angry cleaning, helps keep me sane.
I’ve always loved to write and have shaped my career around it. I currently work as technical writing Federal contractor, although my degree is in public relations. I am also a wife to a handsome boat-building cowboy photographer who I met in high school. We have two children, and motherhood is way better and way harder than I imagined. I am extraordinarily blessed but permanently exhausted.
Thanks for visiting, and please leave comments if you have them. I love to hear from readers!
After reading every article I could find with some variation of the title "How to Name Your Website," I finally settled on having the name of this site inspired by one of my favorite quotes.
Thee lift me, and I'll lift thee, and we'll ascend together.
My goal of this website is to share my version of real talk. In doing so, I hope that you will feel inspired to do the same and feel some level of connection, connecting to the notion that we aren't alone, that there is no "normal," and that we all can lift each other as we face our daily battles.
